When Coles moved from an antiquated paper based new supplier registration format to an electronic registration system via the Coles Supplier Portal, it was a large cultural change for both the Coles Buyers and new suppliers. Not only would suppliers register via the Supplier Portal but they would then electronically manage their business relationship with Coles themselves. I was tasked to put together a series of reference guides and support materials for the different processes of registering different types of new suppliers. I have selected the new supplier registration process to demonstrate here. Some of the other topics I covered were supplier managed financial and banking services, self-managed invoices, renegotiating of trading terms, managing their Supplier Portal accounts administration and general communications from Coles. Reference guides were both printed and also available to download in PDF format from the Supplier Portal.
I also made a suite of eLearning modules to guide and support the suppliers through the electronic forms and website use, designed the progress icons used in the web forms and designed built the web pages that housed the information welcome pages and built an online training library for the suppliers. The Managing My Accounts area of the Coles Supplier Portal is a secure (SSL) area of the portal requiring a user account to view it, therefore I cannot link to it or display any of the sensitive information contained.
