Articulate’s E-Learning Heroes website is a fantastic online community of likeminded Instructional Designers and eLearning enthusiasts.
The website has recently undergone a redesign and is now much more visually enticing and contains a wealth of content and advice for learning designers. E-Learning Heroes is worth reading for tips and tricks and discussions from other designers. The website also offers a range of tutorials where you are able to download the source files to play with in your own time. I find this is one of the best ways to learn and expand your skills. If you run into any problems, simply ask a question on the community forums and you will get a number of suggestions back from other users or administrators. The site also offers downloadable “how-to” guides, graphics and templates which you can use in your designs.
Adobe Captivate sadly offers almost nothing of an online community and Articulate has absolutely nailed this market. Make sure you visit E-Learning Heroes to expand your design skills and back end understanding of eLearning best practices.
